A private graveside service for John Greenlee, 52, is being held at Lame Jones Cemetery. A celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
John Greenlee passed away April 10, 2020 at his residence in Baker.
John Leroy Greenlee was born October 14, 1967 to Lawrence and Erna (Buerkle) Greenlee in Plentywood, MT. He grew up in the Plentywood and Baker areas. John went to school in Baker, graduating from Baker High School. Following graduation, John worked for Dennis Erickson for a short period of time. He then started working for his dad at G & S Trucking. John trucked with his dad for about a year and a half until he took over G & S Trucking. John drove many miles with his truck throughout the years. He leased to Quality Transportation for a period of time. John then hauled cattle under G & S Trucking. He also trucked for Baker Metal and Recycling and Griffith Excavating.
John enjoyed trucking more than anything. If he wasn’t on the road, you could find him watching and cheering on a Rams game. John enjoyed hunting, especially after he purchased a truckers tribute gun, which came with the same serial number as the unit number on his truck, # 43. He also liked going to car shows and racing cars with his buddies. His ’69 Camero was his pride and joy.
John is survived by his mother, Erna Greenlee; brothers, Larry and Jeff Greenlee; aunts and uncles, Faye (Jerry) Gaskin and their son, Justin, Red (Lucy) Lovec and their children, Laria, Roxanne, and Lane; Lee Curry and his daughter, Janel Jensen; cousins Robert Burns and Kara Burns.
He is preceded in death by his father, Larry; grandparents, John and Louise Buerkle and Pearl and Vernon Greenlee; aunts, Bee Burns and Nancy Curry; and uncle Victor Buerkle.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Grasslands Federal Credit Union in Baker, in Johns name to be used to honor him at a later date.
