A Funeral Mass for John Ernest Lizer, 66, of Baker, MT will be at 11:00 a. m. Thursday, November 1, 2007 at St. John?s Catholic Church in Baker with the Rev. Father Thomas Tobin celebrating. Interment will be at a later date in the family lot in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 1:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Wednesday, October 31, 2007 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7:00 p. m. John passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Billings Clinic in Billings, MT. John Ernest Lizer was born a son of Ernest William and Pearl Myrtle (Siemens) Lizer on October 21, 1941 in Rockford, IL. John grew up on the family farm at Pecatonica, IL where he attended school. As a young boy, John took over the family farm after the death of his father. John also worked for a local farmer, Leo Kraut. John eventually met a young lady from Baker, MT by the name of Roberta Moline. After a brief courtship, John and Roberta Lou ?Bobbie Lou? Moline were united in marriage on June 1, 1962 in Pecatonica, IL. John and Bobbie Lou moved to Baker in the spring of 1962. John went to work for Moline Trucking. Later on, John and Bobbie Lou owned and operated Roy?s Motel in Baker. After John semi-retired, he began driving school bus in Baker. John hauled many children to school and back home again during his 11 years as a bus driver. Due to health reasons, John retired from driving school bus, and began delivering the Billings Gazette in Baker. John could also be found at local fairs and events selling his ?gadgets? and ?gizmos?! Due to his diabetes, John was forced into retirement, and in July of 2006 moved to Aspen Meadows in Billings, MT where he lived until the time of his death. John was a member of the Baker Lions Club, and was a 4-H Leader in Fallon County for 13 years. John enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his grandson Ernest. His family was his life. John enjoyed sharing a visit with his friends, and in death, he was able to provide the gift of sight for two people through cornea donation. John is survived by his son, Johnny (Sandra) Lizer, Baker, MT; two brothers, Robert (Carol) Lizer, German Valley, IL and Ray (Rita) Lizer, Ridott, IL and his four grandchildren, Ernest Lizer, Stephanie McWilliams, Jerry O?Neal and Timothy O?Neal. His parents, Ernest and Pearl Lizer, his wife, Roberta Lou Lizer and grandson-in-law John McWilliams preceded him in death. Arrangements are under the direction of Stevenson Funeral Home of Baker, MT.
