Funeral Services for John L. Miller, 73, of Baker, will be Friday, August 13, 2021 11:00a.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with Pastor Rod Kilsdonk officiating. Burial will immediatley follow at Community Union Cemetery Plevna, MT. Military Rites will be by the Baker American Legion Post. #35.
Family Recieving Friends will be Thursday, August 12, 2021 4:00pm - 6:pm at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker.

John Miller passed away August 7, 2021 in Billings,MT. following a short illness.

John was born September 6, 1947 in Bundy, MT to William and Christine (Bushaw) Miller. He grew up and attended school in Musselshell where he then graduated in 1966. Following graduation the Army called and John dedicated his time to the US Army in Germany for the next two years. After he was honorably discharged from the Army he found himself back in the Musselshell area. John met Jackie in Melstone, MT and married. Following their marriage they moved to raise their family in Plevna, MT. John worked for Premion Oil for years and then dedicated himself to the Plevna School System. . John then began work for Fallon County. He loved his work and in blading the roads of Fallon County for the next twenty years until his retirement. John spent many years volunteering for the Plevna Fire Department. He took his job protecting his community very seriously and took great pride in doing so. After retirement he and Jackie continued to make Plevna their home.

John had many interests, all which involved his family and friends. Camping and fishing were a passion for him. Many laughs were had as he was always eager to share his stories with family. With such a large family, John thoroughly enjoyed following the youngsters in their various activities. One great pastime was watching Circle Track Racing with William and T.C.; and for those lucky enough to sit in the stands with John, they received a play by play. Going on Razor rides with Jackie, kids and grandkids gave him so much joy. However, nothing was a given because John may change his mind three or four times before they ever actually took off. John was fun to visit with because he had an amazing quick wit and a few smart aleck comments too share.

John is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jackie; children Christie Miller of Billings, William Miller of Baker, TC (Jill) Shelhamer of Baker, Pat (Cindy) Charlton of Billings, Jim Charlton of Billings, Tim Charlton of Roundup, Mike (Chris) Shelhamer of Roundup, Tina (Terry) Farago of Plainfield, WI, 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Preceded by parents, William and Christine Miller; sister at birth; great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Plevna Volunteer Fire Deptment.
