Funeral Mass for Jose Anchondo, 72 of Dickinson, formerly of Killdeer will be on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at 11:00 a. m. at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer with Father Jerry Ruelle, celebrating. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery in Killdeer, ND. Burial will follow in the Killdeer Cemetery in Killdeer, ND. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 6, at 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Killdeer one hour prior to service. Jose passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson. Jose was born on March 19, 1932 in Chihuhua, Mexico, the son of Casimiro and Juliana Andrade Anchondo. Jose grew up and attended schools in Mexico, where he later began to farm and ranch. On April 28, 1962, Jose married Lidia Chacon Rubio at Chihuahua, Mexico. The family moved to Bishop, California where Jose worked at a 68 Pack Station and served as a Mountain Trail Guide. In 1970, he began his career in Pipe Insulation and Sheet Metal for Oil Refineries. In 1978 the family moved to Dunn Center, ND where Jose began working for the Little Knife Gas Plant. In 1984, they moved to Killdeer where he continued to work for the Plant. In 2001, Jose semi-retired and moved to Dickinson, where they have made their home since. Throughout the years, Jose saw many parts of the US while working for the Oil Companies. He loved music, especially singing and playing the guitar. Jose was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Killdeer where he played guitar and sang with the St. Joseph?s Choir for several years. He loved his flowers, working in his garden and traveling. Jose adored spending time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed following them in all of their sports. He was an avid bird watcher and loved to go camping. Survivors include: his wife, Lidia, of Dickinson; four sons: Gabriel Anchondo, Raymundo (Alma) Anchondo, all of Concord, CA, Gustavo (Julie) Anchondo, Fargo, ND, and Martin (Kodi) Anchondo, Dickinson; three daughters: Guille (Corey) Irons, Bowman, ND, Rosa (Gary) Kudrna, Lidia Judith (Andy) Muckle, all of Dickinson, ND; fifteen grandchildren: Valerie, Jocelyn, Sabrina, Alina, Ryan, Sierra, Kira, Selina, Logan, Ethan, Marisa, Macy, Kalista, Mason, Payton; one Godchild: Samatha Lucio; and one sister: Maria Solis, Chihuhua, Mexico. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son: Jose Alonso; four sisters: Catalina Ruiz, Concepcion Aguirre, Josefa Chacon; and one brother: Lonjino Anchondo.
