Mass of Christian Burial for Josephine Emter, 95, of Bismarck, formerly of Glen Ullin, will be 10:30 A. M. , CDT, Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Fr. Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, rural Glen Ullin. Visitation for Josephine will be 5:00 P. M. -7:30 P. M. CDT, Friday, July 29th at the church with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:30 P. M. CDT. Josephine passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at Marion Manor in Glen Ullin. Josephine was born October 2, 1920 in Brisbane, ND, the daughter of Matt and Katie (Kraft) Bonogofsky. Growing up she attended school, graduating from Carson High School in 1940. She also attended Dickinson State College for a year. On November 10, 1943, Josephine married Andrew Emter at St. Joseph Church in rural Glen Ullin. They were blessed with six children, Ron, Jane, Sandy, Gary, Larry and Jeff. Following their marriage, the couple farmed until 1960. Josephine was a dedicated mother, farmwife and she was a school teacher for a short time, before becoming a nurse’s aide. She touched many lives serving as a nurse’s aide for 30 years, retiring in 2000. Josephine enjoyed family time at Lake Tschida. She enjoyed german cooking, fishing, pulling weeds, word search, walking and being around her grandchildren. Josephine was a member of Christian Mothers and Lioness. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Josephine is survived by her daughters, Jane (Harvey) Koster and Sandy (Don) Peterson, both of Bismarck; sons, Ron (Donna) of Bismarck, Gary (Jackie) of Hazen, Larry (Julie) of Elgin, Jeff (Ann) of Colorado; sisters; Margaret Emch, Mary Wells and Bernice Zimmerman; brother Dave (Marlynann) Bonogofsky; grandchildren, Kris Janey, Eric Emter, AJ Emter (Lynette), Joel Emter (Jessica), Katie Rodman (Juston), Jaine Johnson (Casey), Rick Emter (Tera), Josh Fuchs (Nancy), Jon Aune (Crystal), Jill Smith (Shane), Sarah Emter, Tasha Schock, Shannon Peterson (Lynn), Sheena Campbell (Brian), Eric Koster (Erica), Amber Koster; and 27 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Katie; husband, Andrew “Andy” (2005); sisters, Ann Weinberger, Dorothy Woodbury, Agnes Senn; brothers, Jake, Frank, Gottlieb and Jim Bonogofsky; grandson-in-law, Ted Janey.
