Funeral Mass for Josephine ?Jo? Haverlock, 85, of Dickinson, ND, will be 10:00 a. m. , Monday, July 19, 2010, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Jim Braaten celebrating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary?s Catholic Cemetery in rural Belfield, ND. Visitation will be from 12:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. , Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Jo passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Dickinson. Jo was born June 4, 1925, to Alex and Katie (Zaremba) Gayda in Ukrainia, ND. She grew up and attended rural schools. Later, she attended DSU School of Nursing to become an LPN in 1983. She lived in Minot for 20 years and worked at the Red Owl. Later, in 1979, Jo moved back to Dickinson where she worked at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church and at Kmart until the time of her retirement. Jo loved Scrabble, to play cards and to work crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed bird watching, walking and photography. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed spending time in her garden and homemaking. Jo was also a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church for many years. Jo is survived by her five children, Laureen Evans, Dickinson, ND; Connie Brammer, Elmwood Park, NJ; Tom (Becky) Haverlock, Minot, ND; Nancy (Ron) Jergesen, Great Falls, MT; and Tamara (Chris) Keever, Oak Ridge, TN; 11 grandchildren, Michael Evans, Lisa Rathbun, David Evans, Corinna Davidson, Andrew Crooks, Chad Haverlock, Cassie Davis, Jennifer Brammer, Alexis Keever, Matthew Keever, and Rachel Keever; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pearl Wannamacher. Jo is also survived by Gilbert Ridl, who has been her special, heartfelt companion for many years. Jo was preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
