Funeral Mass for Josephine “Josie” Kudrna, 90, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Monsignor Thomas Richter celebrating.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Stevenson Funeral Home, with a Rosary and Vigil starting at 6:00 p.m.
Josie passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Josephine Binstock was born on January 15, 1933 in Stark County, North Dakota to Peter and Mary Eva (Sticka) Binstock. She grew up on the family farm near Schefield and attended St. Pius Catholic Schools. After obtaining her LPN, she worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital in Dickinson.
Josie met Gilbert Kudrna and the couple was married on October 26, 1953 in Schefield. To this union, four children were born – Alvin, Connie, Colleen, and Michael. The family made their home in Dickinson.
Josie was a member of the St. Wenceslaus mission group for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, doing word searches, and crocheting.
Josie’s children are forever grateful for the care their mom received from Josie’s siblings.
Josie is survived by her children, Connie (Allan) Karsky, Coleen (Kurt) Olheiser, and Mike (Connie) Kudrna; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Mary Pachl, Rose Senn, Cecelia (Claude) Frank, Bernie Binstock, Hilda Binstock, and Leona Kessel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; son, Alvin; sister, Bertha Kinzel; brothers, Charlie, Henry, and Peter Jr.; sister-in-law JoAnn Binstock; and brothers-in-law, George Pachl, Leroy Senn, Gabe Kinzel, and Chuck Kessel.
