Josephine Kuntz

Funeral Mass for Josephine Kuntz, 90, of Portland, OR, formerly of Dickinson, will be 10:30 a. m. Friday, April 30, 2010, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be 9:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 6:30 p. m. Josephine passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010, in Portland. Josephine Wetzstein was born March 15, 1920 to Peter and Monica (Wanner) Wetzstein in Richardton, ND. She grew up on the family farm and attended the local country school. On November 24, 1941, Josephine married Joseph Kuntz at St. Stephen?s Catholic Church south of Richardton. The couple made their home on the farm and it was here where they raised their family. After Joseph passed away, Josephine retired to Dickinson in 1978. She spent nearly 20 years here before moving to Portland, OR to be closer to her daughter Lorretta and her family. Josephine enjoyed gardening especially taking care of her flowers and roses. While in Oregon she was an avid fan of the Portland Trailblazers basketball team. Josephine greatly enjoyed time with her family and was especially fond of her great-granddaughter Savanah. Josephine is survived by her son, Ralph (Debbie) Kuntz of SD; their children Troy Kuntz; Ashley Kuntz; daughter Lorretta (Raymond) Hondl of OR; their children, Shawn (Teresa) Hondl; Shannon Hondl; Nickole Hondl; son, Marvin (Jeanette) Kuntz of SD; their children, Jennifer (Roland) Enninga; five great-grandchildren, Savanah Hondl, and Tina, Laura, Connor and Jesse Kuntz; and brother, Tony Kuntz of Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; both parents; and seven siblings.
