The Mass of Christian Burial for Juletta ?Jolly? Florian, 88, of Dickinson, will be at 9 a. m. , Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Abbott Brian Wangler, OSB, celebrating. Interment will be 2 p. m. (MT) Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 2:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. , Sunday, June 3 continuing at 9:a. m. to 9 p. m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service on Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Dickinson. Juletta Florian passed away at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson on May 31, 2007. Juletta or Jolly as most of her family and friends called her was born on April 4, 1919 in Eden Valley, MN. the oldest of twelve children to Matt and Cecilia (Kron) Schreifels. She grew up helping her parents with their fishing and camping business, cleaning cabins, guiding fishermen and cooking for their guests at the resort. Jolly attended country school through the eight grade and graduated from the Eden Valley High School in 1938. After high school she worked as a nanny and in a department store, where she did some modeling for a clothing outlet in St. Paul. It was there she met her future husband, Herman Florian. They were united in marriage after Herman returned home on a leave from the service on December 27, 1944. After the birth of their first child, Judith the family moved to Dickinson were they have made their home and raised their children. She was a life time member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Jolly enjoyed music, cooking and playing bridge. She has a wealth of good friends, family and children. Jolly has always enjoyed being crafty and has given many jewel-covered vases and trees she has made to friends and family. Jolly has passed on her sense of style and love for cooking and enjoying fine food to all of her children. Family gatherings are always gourmet adventures, filled with laughter, music and dance. She is survived by three daughters, Judith Florian, Jamestown, ND, Jean Johnson, Clearwater, MN and Janel Lemons, Portland, OR; two sons, Mark Florian, Costa Mesa, CA and Michael Florian, Newcastle, WA; a sister, Cecila Lawson, Tampa, AZ; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman, four brothers and six sisters.
