Julie Rose Hammond was born on May 22, 1988 in Hettinger, North Dakota to Stanley and Beverly (Miller) Laufer. Julie was number 4 of 6 children and was the self-proclaimed favorite. She grew up on the family farm north of Hettinger and graduated from Hettinger High School. After graduating high school, she attended Minnesota State University in Moorhead. She transferred to Dickinson State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. After graduation, she started working at Fisher Industries.
Julie married Cory Hammond on July 15, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The following year, their son, Brock, was born, followed by Bryce, Brooklyn, Bria, and Bristol. Her kids were her life.
Julie loved crafts, from building ginger bread houses with the kids to putting a 1,000 piece puzzle together on a weekend. Julie enjoyed following her kids around while they played football, baseball, and softball. Even with everything going on, she never missed an event. Julie was also an avid Detroit Lions fan, getting to go see them win their first home playoff game in 30 years in person.
Julie is survived by her husband, Cory; children, Brock, Bryce, Brooklyn, Bria, and Bristol Hammond; mother, Beverly Laufer; and siblings, Frank (Mandy) Laufer, Dusty (Shanda) Laufer, Michael (Brandi) Laufer, Paige (Kevin) Hagen, and Ben (Alicia) Laufer.
She is preceded in death by her father, Stan Laufer; and her grandparents, Earl and Liv Laufer and Frank Miller.
