Funeral Services for Anna June Pierce, 84, of Ekalaka, MT will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka with Gary Jardee and Lloyd Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in the Pierce Family lot in the Beaver Lodge Cemetery at Ekalaka. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19th, with the family present from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. June Passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Fallon Medical Complex Nursing Home in Baker, MT. Anna June Nasset was born on February 10, 1925 the daughter of Matt and Bertha (Sipma) Nasset. Her mother passed away when she was born, so she was raised by her mother?s parents. She rode horseback to Hilmont School thru 8th grade and then attended Baker High School. She married O.J. Carver Jr. and moved to California. To this union was born four children Betty Jean, Lenny, Shirley and Bonnie. She later divorced and moved back to Montana. She worked for Jack Story in his grocery store in Ekalaka until she married Floyd James Pierce on October 20, 1950. From this union Dan and Laurie were added to the family. They lived on the family ranch southwest of Ekalaka where she worked along side of her husband running the ranch. Her family was the most important thing to her. She always had a meal ready for anyone who dropped in and her home was always open not only to her immediate family but nieces and nephews too. She loved gardening and raising flowers, but always wished the growing season was longer. June is survived by her children Orlen Jesse (Barb) Carver, Sidney, Shirley Ann “Dean” (Kenny) Scheetz, Sidney, Bonnie Lee “Elmore” (Larry) Sharbono, Sidney, Floyd Daniel (Denise) Pierce, Ekalaka and Laurie Mae (Roger) Pankratz, Baker; 20 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her daughter Betty Jean (Gary) Cato, one granddaughter Brandi Jo Pankratz, two son-in laws Robert Dean and Bill Elmore, one sister Ellena “Sieler” Eden, one brother Bud Nasset. Arrangements are under the care of Stevenson Funeral Home of Ekalaka, MT.
