A Celebration of Life service for Karen Gentry, 65, of Dickinson will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Family Receiving Friends will take place from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m., prior to her service on Friday.
Karen passed away at her residence on Saturday, May 16, 2021.
Karen Sue Williams was born in Ruleville, Mississippi on November 9, 1955, daughter of Sonny and Margaret (Andrews) Williams. She grew up in the Mississippi Delta where she still has many friends and family. Upon entering adulthood she met Henry Gentry who became her lifelong companion. They started their lives together traveling the United States repairing roofs after natural disasters. In 2005, Karen settled in Dickinson where she focused on her family and enjoying life. She was a beautiful example of loving life and seeing her children happy filled her heart with great joy. Karen enjoyed cooking, especially baking. She had a love for gardening and was partial to sunflowers and daisies. She loved traveling and seeing different scenery throughout the country, spending time with her family and friends- especially when a barbecue grill was involved, and Karen’s favorite time of the day was 4:20. She will be missed dearly.
Karen is survived by her life companion of 43 years, Henry; son, Brien (Maranda) Gentry and their children, Kambrie and Myla Gentry, Ashton and Brayton Schoner and Lilly Weiler all of Dickinson; daughter, Mandy (Jamie) Brewer and their children, Annie Brewer, Riley (Katie) Brewer and their son; Waylon Brewer all of Carrollton, MS; son, Nolan Gentry and his children, Lathan and Dalilah Gentry of Dickinson; step-children, Henry Gentry Jr., Andy Gentry, Tamra Gentry Lance, Joe Gentry, Brad Gentry; mother, Margaret Williams; and sister, Jenna Williams Rushing of Frankfurt, Germany.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Thora “Gran Gran” Andrews; father, Sonny Williams; brother, Sammy Williams; step-child, Renee Gentry.
