Karen M. Knudtson, age 65, of Hebron, died Thursday, April 26, 2007, at St. Alexius in Bismarck. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 30, at St. John Church in Hebron at 11:00 Central Time with Pastor Ed Zuern, officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 8:30 pm on Sunday with a prayer service held at 7:00 PM at Spangelo Funeral Home in Hebron. Burial will be in the Taylor Lutheran Cemetery in Taylor, ND. Karen was born September 16, 1941 at Richardton, ND the daughter of Herbert and Hulda (Almendinger) Kisse. She was raised and educated at Taylor. Karen attended Dickinson State College and received her teaching certificate. She then taught school in Glendive, MT. Karen married Harold Knudtson, June 23, 1962 in Taylor. Following marriage they taught school in Mandaree for one year. In September of 1963, they moved to Hebron. Harold and Karen went into the banking business at the Security Bank of Hebron where she worked as a bookkeeper and teller for the bank in Hebron and the bank in Taylor. Both were on the Board of Directors of the Bank. Karen was involved in the community in the St. John Church, the Jaycettes, Sunny Nodak Homemakers, and delivered meals on wheels for many years. Karen enjoyed traveling in the RV, doing crafts, being with her grandchildren and spending time with friends. Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Harold, Hebron; two daughters and sons-in-law: Cerese and Patrick Phillippe, Chanhassen, MN; and Cazanne and David Fitterer, of Bismarck, and one son Chad, Bismarck; her grandchildren Jaxon, Jenna, and Julia Fitterer, and Connor Phillippe. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Hulda Kisse.
