Funeral Services for Karl Kehr, 88 of Killdeer will be 11:00 a. m. , Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Killdeer with Pastor John Simonson officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. Karl passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Karl Harper Kehr was born August 18, 1925 in Norristown, Pennsylvania, son of William and Isabel (Mawson) Kehr. Karl grew up in Jeffersonville, Pennsylvania, and was the youngest of the famous “Kehr Boys”. Growing up, Karl attended Sunday school for seven consecutive years without missing a single Sunday. He played baseball while in high school and enjoyed playing softball into his mid-forties. He served tours of duty in World War II and again in Korea. Karl married Ruth Ellen Richards on December 3, 1955 and to that union was born two sons. Karl relocated from Collegeville, Pennsylvania with his son, Eric, in 1997 to Killdeer where they established a horse ranch and later purchased the Buckskin Bar and Grill. Karl loved farm auctions, was a dedicated tool collector for his sons and also collected pocket watches. He enjoyed bowling, watching baseball and a good cigar. Karl is survived by children, Karl Stephen (Cari Lynn) Kehr and Eric Thomas (Stacie Lea) Kehr; grandchildren, Karl Hunter Kehr, Kendall Marie Kehr, Cody Colt Kehr, and Teresa Bell Jones; great-grandchild, Payton Claire Lamb; brother, Robert (Louis) Kehr and sister-in-law, Millie Kehr. Karl was preceded in death by his parents, William and Isabel, and his brother William.
