Katherine Hanssen

Funeral Services for Katherine A. Hanssen, 92, of Dickinson are 10:30 a. m. on Friday, May 4, 2007, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Pastors Steven D. Tangen and Lisa Lewton, officiating. Interment will be in the Dickinson Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be Thursday, May 3, 2007, at Stevenson Funeral Home from 12 noon to 9 p. m. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church one hour prior to the service. Katherine A. Hanssen passed away Monday, April 30, 2007, at her home. Katherine A. Hanssen was born on April 5, 1915, in Dunn County, ND to John P. and Amelia (Steffen) Hanssen. She attended the Willman School District Schools and two years of secretarial school, and was registered with the Registry of Medical Secretaries. Katherine served in the U. S. Army Air Force from January of 1944 and was honorably discharged on December 31, 1945 as a Corporal. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild and in many woman?s circles. Katherine also was a fifty year member of Beta Sigma Phi. She is survived by: four brothers, Fred W. , Sparta, WI, Henry C. , Dickinson, Louis S. , Santa Rosa, CA and Clarence H. Hanssen, Dickinson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her parents, one brother, Peter F. Hanssen and one sister Clara Jepson.
