Funeral Mass for Katherine ?Kay? F. Kelly, 84, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a. m. Monday, November 16, 2009, at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph?s Cemetery in Dickinson. Visitation will be Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 10:00 a. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary and Prayer Service at 4:00 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 a. m. to one hour prior to the service at Stevenson Funeral Home. Katherine passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. Katherine ?Kay? Faller was born on February 28, 1925, to Anton and Ida (Schwindt) in Dickinson, ND. She grew up in Dickinson where she attended St. Joseph?s Grade School and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1942. While in school, Kay helped her mother with various jobs, such as cleaning houses and babysitting for other families. After her schooling, Kay worked at Woolworth for a brief time before taking a job at Northwestern Bell, where she worked for 37 years before retiring in 1981. In January 1969, Kay married Francis Kelly at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple made their home in Dickinson until Francis passed away in 1999. Kay continued to live at home until November 2004 when she moved to Country House. In May 2006, Kay moved to St. Benedict?s, where she resided until she passed away. Kay loved to bowl. She passed that enjoyment of bowling on to her daughter, Linda, and also her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards, dancing and working with crafts. Kay was very proud and received many compliments on the beautiful roses she raised. Kay also loved to travel. She traveled the world, visiting places such as Germany, Austria, Holland, and her most special trip of all was to the Holy Land in Jerusalem. She also spent 14 winters in Arizona. Kay?s favorite time was spent with family, visiting and playing games. Kay belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Telephone Pioneers and was a lifetime member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church. Kay is survived by: daughter, Linda (Bruce) Michaels, Dickinson, ND; grandchildren, Kelli Michaels, Dickinson, ND; Douglas (Michelle) Michaels, Bismarck, ND; great-grandchildren Ethan and Tristan Michaels, Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law Fabian Kelly; and sister-in-law Louise Faller. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis, and three brothers, Joe, Pete and Freddie Faller. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
