A Funeral Mass for Katherine Kleemann, 87, of Dickinson, formerly of Killdeer will be 10:00 a. m. , Friday, December 12, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Killdeer with Father Darnis Selvanayakam celebrating. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation for Katherine will be from 6:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. , Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p. m. Katherine passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson, ND. Katherine was born July 11, 1927, the daughter of Uman and Anna (Beolycko) Tereschenko. She grew up on the family farm near Fayette and attended school in Killdeer graduating from Killdeer High School in 1947. She earned her teaching certificate at Dickinson Teacher College and began her teaching career at various country schools north of Killdeer. It was during this time that she met Martin Kleemann and the two were married on June 6, 1950. The couple made their home on the ranch north of Killdeer where they raised five children: Robert, Dennis, Nancy, Dianne and Kayleen. After Martin passed away, Katherine remained on the farm for several years before returning to Killdeer. Katherine moved to Dickinson to live with her daughter and her family for the last seven years. She loved riding horses in her younger days and enjoyed traveling. Katherine visited all 50 states. She enjoyed cooking, making borscht and chocolate chip cookies, oil painting, sewing, raising roses, crafts, and gardening. Katherine was also very fond of her cats. She was known as “Grandma” to all the neighborhood kids. She never missed any of her kids or grandkids sporting events or rodeos, and was always ready to go. Katherine is survived by her son, Robert (Candyce) Kleemann of Killdeer, ND; daughters, Nancy (Rick) Magee of Townsend, MT and Kayleen (Steve) Marmon of Dickinson, ND; daughter-in-law, Shirley Kleemann of Killdeer, ND; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Martin Kleemann; son, Dennis Kleemann; daughter, Dianne Kleemann, and all of her siblings.
