A funeral Mass for Kathleen (Kay) E. Foster, 85 of Dickinson, will be at 10 a. m. , Friday, April 22, 2016 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Shannon Lucht celebrating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation for Kay will be from 1 p. m. to 8 p. m. , Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7 p. m. Kay passed away at St Alexius Hospital on Sunday, April 17, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Kay was born on Sept. 14, 1930 in Dickinson, ND to Edward and Nora (Connell) O’Hearn. Kay attended Dickinson High School and the University of Oregon. She taught school for one year in Versippi, ND. On Dec. 29, 1951, Kay married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Bill Foster. From this union six children were born. Kay was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved spending time at the cabin in the Black Hills, summer vacations to Ely, MN and numerous trips to Europe, Gulf Shores and Palm Springs. Kay treasured her time with her friends during morning coffee and bridge club. Kay is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill; children, Jim (Christie) Foster, Eugene, OR, Tom Foster (Raul Sanchez), Portland, OR, Patti (Craig) Newby, Dickinson, ND, Joan (Terry) Kadrmas, Lakeville, MN, Marty (Kent) Kudrna, Dickinson, ND, and Peggy (Vince) Vidal, Rapid City, SD; grandchildren, Ashlee Foster, Karissa Newby, Jennifer (Bryan) Page, Cliff Newby, Jason (Amy) Kadrmas, Kristi (Mark) Spitzmueller, Sarah (Mike) Horner, Kyle (Michelle) Kudrna, Lee (Laura) Vidal, Monique (Amber) Vidal, Aaron Vidal and Matthew Vidal; great-grandchildren, Finn Page, Kate Kadrmas, Vince Kadrmas, Hudson Horner, Jameson Horner, Layla Vidal, Levi Vidal and Koli Vidal. Siblings: Marge Swett, Dan O’Hearn, Sharon (Gary) Hamann and also many nieces and nephews. Kay is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Nora O’Hearn and brother-in-law Darwin Swett. Memorials in Kay’s honor can be made to Trinity High School and Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
