Kathryn Ferderer

Mass of Christian Burial for Kathryn Ferderer, 88, of Richardton are Saturday, January 25, 2003, 10:00 a. m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Father Brian Wangler, OSB, celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Richardton.


Visitation is Friday from 9:00 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, 6:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a rosary being said at 8:00 p. m. St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton.


Kathryn passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2003, at Richardton Health Center.


Kathryn, a daughter of Gregor & Veronica (Lantz) Messer was born on July 17, 1914 in rural Grant County. She attended St. Joseph’s Country School while growing up in Grant County. After the death of her father at an early age she worked on the family farm helping her mother. On February 14, 1939 Kathryn married John R. Ferderer in St. John’s Catholic Church in New Leipzig, ND. They began a life long journey of farming and raising their five children. In 1977, they retired from farming and moved into Richardton where they have made their home since.


Kathryn enjoyed sewing, gardening, dancing and being a member in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Christian Mothers.


Kathryn is survived by her children Marionn Ferderer, Corollee (Dwight) Hardmeyer, Lynda (Skip) Williams, all of Richardton, ND and James (Sheila) Ferderer of New Leipzig, ND; five grandchildren, Darrin (Wanda) Hardmeyer of Richardton, Troy (Sylvia) Metzger of Steinheim, Germany, Tod Metzger of Dothan, AL, Beth Guthrie of Pensacola, FL, Heather (Eric) Inman of Milwaukee, WI; three great grandchildren, Kaare Hardmeyer of Richardton, Tiffani and Amber Inman of Milwaukee, WI. She was preceded in death by parents, husband, daughter, Jonnes, three brothers, and five sisters.
