She continued her education at Dickinson State Teachers College.   Kathryn was a grade school teacher at Glade, Spring Creek, Gorham, Whitetail and Fairfield.  On June 3, 1947, Kathryn married Philip Malkowski at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church in Gorham, ND.  Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Roger and Gary. Kathryn was a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed gardening, canning, exercising, reading and living on the ranch in Billings County. She had a special love for animals, especially Hereford cattle and horses and loved the ranch life. She made the best home-made bread and borscht soup.   Kathryn lived a beautiful faith-filled life, praying the rosary daily. She played an active role in her church, St. Demetrius Ukrainian Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Society and the church choir. Kathryn will be dearly missed.
