A funeral service for “Katy” Lue Reeves, 88, of Baker, will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 12, 2018 at Assembly of God Church, Baker, MT, with Pastor Rod Kilsdonk officiating. Burial will follow at Plevna Community Union Cemetery.


Visitation for Katy will be from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Stevenson Funeral Home, with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p.m.


“Katy” Lue Jones Reeves went home to be with her loving, heavenly Father on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, MT with Lue and Sue at her side.


Katy was born on December 2, 1929 in Quay County, New Mexico, the 10
th
child of John Olga and Lilly Mae (Cox) Jones.  She attended a one room school house through 5
th
grade, a primary school for 6
th
-8
th
grade, then lived with her sister, Ola and husband Leonard, to attend High School in Santa Rosa, MN.


Katy married Melvin Lee Reeves Sr. on November 20, 1948. Together they had five children: sons, Kenneth (Val) Reeves of Fort Worth, TX and Daniel Reeves of Bonners Ferry, ID; daughters, Elaine (Elton) Dodge of Livingston, MT, Lue (Les) Anderson of Sidney, MT, and Sue (Steve) Sieler of Plevna, MT; and step-sons, Lee and George Reeves of Pasadena, CA.


Katy and Melvin moved their family from Tucumcari, MN to Corvallis, MT in 1961. They purchased four acres to raise their family on. She could grow anything in the huge garden and spent hours canning vegetables for the winter. Katy taught all age groups in Sunday school and was very active in the Hamilton Baptist Church then the Assembly of God Church.


In 1997 Katy moved to Belgrade, MT to live near her daughters, Lue and Elaine. She was very active in the Belgrade Christian Assembly, she loved leading Bible studies and Senior Saints every month, and making a special “favor” for everyone.


In 2010 she moved to Baker, MT to live near Sue where she led the Keenagers Luncheon at Baker Assembly of God.


Katy loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed doing crafts and blessing her family and friends with homemade gifts. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidery, and quilting. Katy had a great sense of humor and loved practical jokes. She sewed most of her family’s clothing and was an amazing cook.


Being the last surviving member of 13 siblings, “Katy” Lue Reeves is survived by her five children, Ken, Dan, Elaine, Lue & Sue; step-son, Lee; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, Melvin; all 12 of her siblings; and step-son, George.


Katy will be greatly missed but is welcomed in heaven.
