Funeral Services for Myrna Kay Hanley, 75, of Baker, MT will be 9:00 a. m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the Baker Community Church with Pastor Janice Bair officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 12 noon to 9:00 p. m. Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. Kay passed away on Monday, July 30, 2007 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Myrna Kay Rountree was born on February 11, 1932, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Johnson) Rountree in Forsyth, Montana. As a young girl, she moved with her parents, as her father worked for the Montana State Highway Department. They lived in several eastern Montana towns such as Baker, Fallon, Miles City, Forsyth, Sidney, Billings and Musselshell. Kay graduated from Richland County High School in Sidney in 1949. She then attended the Presentation School of Nursing in Miles City, MT. In 1946, a tall, dark stranger entered her life and on February 19, 1951, Kay married Pat Hanley in Miles City. Together they purchased the Hanley homestead 21 miles south of Plevna where they ranched and raised their five children. Kay worked as a nurse?s aide at the Dahl Memorial Nursing Home in Ekalaka and later at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Kay worked as the Activities Director at Fallon Medical Complex for 10 years before retiring. She was an active member of the Baker Community Church and served on various boards. Kay also was the secretary treasurer for the church Ladies? Aide. She was a 55 year member of the Willard Homemakers, a member of the Fallon County Cowbells, Montana Merit Mothers, Pink Ladies Hospital Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, 101 Community Club and Baker Senior Citizens Center. Kay was also a 4-H leader for many years for the Red Butte Ramblers 4-H Club. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, telling jokes and especially loved any type of gathering of family, friends and community. Her family always considered her the social director. She is survived by her husband, Pat, Baker; three sons, David (Patti) Hanley, Elliston, Allan (Carla) Hanley, Billings and Bill (Rita) Hanley, Baker; two daughters, Kathy (Gordon) Nelson, Colstrip and Meg (Dale) McCamish, Rochester, MN; a brother, Bob ?Bud? (Joyce) Rountree Jr, Lander, WY; ten grandchildren, Jeena (Ray) Christopherson, Jill (Shep) Vail; John (Beth) Hanley, Sara (Tre) Thompson, Ryan (Jacki) Nelson, Scott Nelson, Neal (Jodi) Hanley, Kourtney Hanley, Kirk McCamish and Jessica McCamish and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant granddaughter. A memorial has been established for the Baker Community Church or to a charity of one?s choice.
