Funeral Mass for Kay Splichal, 41, Dickinson, will be Thursday, August 21, 2003, at 10:00 am in the St. Joseph?s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Schafer celebrant. Burial will be in the St. Joseph?s Cemetery, DickinsonVisitation will begin Tuesday, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. followed by a rosary at 7:00 pm in the Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm followed by a rosary and vigil at 7:00 pm. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel and continuing on Thursday until one hour before service at the chapelKay passed away August 16, 2003 at St. Alexius Hospital, Bismarck. She ended her 16 year battle with Lupus on Saturday when she joined her earthly father on his birthday with their heavenly father. Kay was born December 17, 1961 at Dickinson, the daughter of Ludwig E. and Ann (Schroeder) Kadrmas. She grew up and attended schools in Gladstone. Kay graduated from Trinity High School in 1980. On November 20, 1980 she was married to Ken Splichal at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. They continued to make Dickinson their home where they raised their two sons, Mitch and Brent. Kay was very talented in so many ways and loved to organize, decorate and have the family gatherings. She enjoyed camping, fishing, playing the organ and piano, drawing, painting, ceramics, playing cards ? especially Russian Rummy. Kay was a noted perfectionist, always seeing to the smallest detail. She always followed her boys in sports as well as her nephews and nieces. She enjoyed making people happy. A special event was held on each Thursday when she would get together with her friends for lunch. Kay was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church and taught CCD and Bluebirds. Survivors include her husband, Ken, Dickinson; two sons, Mitchell Lee and Brenton Michael both of Dickinson, mother, Ann Kadrmas, Dickinson; eight brothers: Gordon R. (Pamela) Kadrmas, Dickinson, Galen N. (Clara Hanel) Kadrmas, Dickinson, Alan P. (Carleen) Kadrmas, South Heart, Chet B. (Sandie) Kadrmas, Dickinson, Joel H. (Cheryl) Kadrmas, Dickinson, Ludwig, Jr. (Mary Ann) Kadrmas, Dickinson, Bruce B. Kadrmas, Dickinson, Tracy (Becky) Kadrmas, Missoula, MT; two sisters, Linda Stockert, and Lisa Kadrmas both of Dickinson; 26 nieces and nephews and 7 great-nieces and nephews. Her father, two nieces, Kay Lynn and Samantha, and all her grandparents preceded her in death.
