Keith Hutchinson

A Memorial Service for Keith Hutchinson, 67, of New York City is 2:00 p. m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Killdeer with Rev. Aanen Gjovik, officiating. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Keith died on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 in New York City. Keith was born June 20, 1936 in Werner, ND to Donald and Grace (Fenton) Hurchinson. Soon after he was born, his family moved from their farm/ranch on the edge of the Badlands, north of Killdeer to Killdeer. He attended Killdeer High School and graduated in 1954. He served in the U. S. Army from April 1956 to February 1958. His tour of duty was spent in Heilbronn, Germany. Keith attended Fresno State in California, graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. After graduating from college, he worked as an auditor for the General Accounting Office (GAO) of the U. S. Government from 1961-65. He worked one year in San Francisco, two years in Hawaii, and six months in New York City. He then worked as an accountant for the International Nickel Company in New York City. After taking journalism courses, he then worked briefly as a reporter for the Middletown, New York, Times-Herald Record. Later, he enrolled in graduate school, receiving his doctorate in psychology from Yeshiva University in New York City in 1978. He then trained as a psychotherapist at the Greenwich Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies in New York City. He worked as a psychotherapist from 1971 to 1991. From 1979 until his retirement in the late 90?s, he worked as a school psychologist with the Yonkers School District in Yorkers, N. Y. Keith is survived by his aunts: Frances Fenton, California and Thelma Fenton, Killdeer; niece, Pat Gumz, Barstow, CA; nephew, Jason Hutchinson, Killdeer; niece, Dawn Hutchinson, nephew, Mitchell Hutchinson, nephew Joseph Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jean and three brothers, James, Robert and Pete.
