Funeral Service for Keith Allen Thompson, 42, of Des Lacs, ND, formerly of Dunn Center, ND will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Normanna Lutheran Church, Dunn Center with Rev. Joel Sauerwein officiating. Burial will follow at the Dunn Center Cemetery. Visitation for Keith will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Killdeer, ND with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Killdeer and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Normanna Lutheran Church. Keith passed away July 31, 2008 as a result of an accidental drowning near Garrison, ND. Keith Allen was born August 23, 1965 in Fargo, ND. He grew up the son of Rodney and Adeline (McConnell) Thompson in Dunn Center. He attended school in Killdeer graduating from Killdeer High School in 1984. After graduation, he attended college at North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton. In 1988, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. August of 1988, he married Marlene Linnell and to this union, Kimberly and Shawn were born. After being honorably discharged from the service in 1991, he returned to the Dunn Center area. Several years later, he moved to the Minot area where he drove truck. Most recently, Keith worked in the hospitality portion of the International Inn. He had a special love of animals and the outdoors. Keith enjoyed cooking and BBQ cook offs. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends but especially time with his children. Keith will be remembered as a very giving person with a great sense of humor. Keith is survived by: his parents, Rodney and Adeline Thompson, Dunn Center; his birth mother, Karen Ide, Minot; son, Shawn Thompson, daughter, Kimberly Thompson, and their mother, Marlene Thompson all of Dickinson; grandson, Alexander Rapp, Dickinson; grandmothers, Katherine McConnell, Killdeer, Rose Greaves, Williston; brother, Josh (Tanya) Ide, Minot; sisters, Brenda (Jay) Bertsch, Wilton, ND, Patricia Rosatti, Jessica Ide, Minot; nephews; Devon Greff, Landon Rosatti and Noelle Ide; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by: his grandparents, Kendahl and Anne Thompson, Walter McConnell.
