Funeral Service for Kenneth F. Cretsinger, 85, of Plevna, MT will be 10:00 a. m. on Thursday, September 22, 23011 in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, MT with Pastors Bruce & Reba Kolasch officiating. Interment will follow in Bonnievale Cemetery at Baker. Visitation will be 4:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. on Wednesday, September 21st, at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p. m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, from 9:00 a. m. until the time of service. Kenneth Franklin Cretsinger went home to Heaven on September 17th, 2011 at his home in Carter County. Kenneth was born on April 19, 1926 in Baker, MT, the only son of George Washington and Nellie Adeline (Shafer) Cretsinger. He attended country school at Spring Creek School up to 8th grade, when he took over and ran the family farm until his death. Kenneth was a member of the Medicine Rocks Church and helped with many of the upgrades such as the fellowship hall, the placing of the bell and many other things. Kenneth also loved collecting stamps, coins and old machinery. He loved being with people and always loved a gathering and a good meal to which he could visit and be with friends and family. Kenneth was a kind, gentle man with an unbelievable dose of patience. Kenneth loved the Lord and unknown too many he carried many scripture verses in his left shirt pocket, close to his heart. Kenneth met his wife Dorothy when she attended Medicine Rocks Church. He later caught her hunting arrowheads on his place by mistake! After a ?courtship? they were married on January 27th, 1979 in Ekalaka. To this union Dorothy brought 4 children that Kenneth accepted as his. Kenneth is survived by his wife Dorothy, children Dennis Peterson and family McDonough, Georgia, Kathryn Peterson of Decatur, Georgia, Lisa Merkle of New Market, Alabama and Stacey (Bruce) Moore and family of Baker, Montana; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents George and Nellie and grandchild Charlie.
