Kenneth J. Keating, age 71, a resident of Bullhead City for 20 years, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2005. He was born March 13, 1934 in Mobridge, South Dakota. Mr. Keating was in the Montana National Guard and attended college in Dickinson, N. D. in 1953. He also attended Miles City Community college in Miles City, MT in 1954. In Bullhead City, he was a member of LAFF, a local remote control flying club. He worked at the Ramada Express Slot Club from 1990 until he retired in 2001. Before that he had a long history working in radio and sportscasting. 1987-1990 he worked at KFLG Radio; Radio Sportscaster from 1963-1984: Sportscasting at KWYO – Sheridan, Wyo. From 1962-1968. KOWB – Laramie, Wyo. From 1968-1983 he worked as a color sportscaster for the University of Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball for the Inter-Mountain Sports Network. KRQU/KOJO -Laramie, Wyo. Form 1983-1986 he worked as a general manager. Kenneth won the honor of Wyoming Sportscaster of the Year in 1965, 1971, 1972, 1973, and 1974. Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Keating of Bullhead City; daughter Laurie Floy and her husband Chris Floy of Laramie, Wyo. ; grandson Cactus Floy and his wife Amanda of Powell, Wyo. ; grandson Colter Floy of Laramie, Wyo. ; daughter Kathleen Keating and son-in-law George Farr, both of Albuquerque, N. M. ; and brother-in-law Dick Richardson and his wife Arleen of Lakeside, Ariz. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 21, 2005, 7 pm-8pm at Diamond & Sons Silver Bell Chapel with Rob Beatty officiating.
