Kenny passed away peacefully, the morning of September 13, 2015 at Fallon Medical Complex, in Baker. He was born January 30, 1930 on the Sweeney place to Sten and Ida Wiman. Growing up he worked on the family ranch gaining knowledge and experience. He attended school until the 8th grade and going on to work full time on the ranch. During his teenage years Kenny also learned to set pins at the bowling alley in Baker, MT. He later went to work driving gravel truck on road construction in Forsyth, MT. On July 22, 1950 he married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Oldis. The two then returned to Baker and Kenny was a pumper for Shell Oil. After learning about the oil industry, the pair decided to purchase Kenny’s parents’ ranch and made a life ranching and farming. They started a family completing it with 4 children: Rick, Shirley, and twin girls Fay and Kay. Kenny & Pat belonged to a square dance club, entertained with supper, cards and visiting. As the children got older they bought a house in town, and later sold the ranch to live in town full time. Ken decided to get into the modular home business and in his time put up 40+ homes. He also had a stock trailer sales and service company. He truly enjoyed overhauling stock trailers, and welding to build other types of trailers too. Over the years Ken and Pat hauled trailers for other dealers and traveled all over. They made many friends and were able to see a lot of country. They also were able to spend much one on one time together over the miles! When they were ready to slow down they bought a motor home and spent the winters in Arizona. There they purchased property in North Ranch, right outside of Congress, Arizona. Kenny enjoyed landscaping and helping his neighbors. After 52 years of marriage, Kenny lost his wife, Pat, to cancer in 2002. Kenny had a passion to preserve local history through the Fallon County Museum. He spent many hours doing repairs & handy work there. He served on the Historical Society as Vice President and was proud of the history that our community shared there. He was always pleased to help improve the community in any way he could and had a firm belief that you should always leave things in better condition than what you found it in. Over the years Kenny helped out many people. He gave them jobs and work experience from a range of grandkids mowing lawns topeople in the community fixing fence, working livestock and running heavy equipment. Kenny was always willing to help someone out in need and made friends where ever he traveled. On April 3, 2009 in Yarnell, Arizona Kenny married Norita Fried. The two made a life together based on love and good times. Together they enjoyed traveling, visiting family and sightseeing. Their favorite sight was the breath taking Grand Canyon. Every Tuesday night they entertained friends with a sweet treat whether it was a delicious pie or bars and followed up with playing a friendly game of cards. The two became movie buffs by taking in comedies and box office hits regularly. When not traveling for fun they were spending time seeing kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Kenny is survived by his wife Norita Fried of Baker, MT; sister Ruth O’Connor of Caldwell, ID. A son, Rick (Debi) of Baker, MT; three daughters: Shirley (Rollie) Maier of Baker, MT, Fay (Jay) Swenson of Rapid City, SD, and Kay (Peter Todd) Wiman-Wilson of Baker, MT.
