Kevin “Moose” John Kadrmas, Superior, died on Monday, June 20, 2005. He was born June 12, 1952 in Dickinson, ND. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Lund) Kadrmas (married 27 years); his parents, Agnes and Vince Kadrmas, Dickinson, ND; brothers, Daryl (Heidi) Kadrmas, Superior, Terry (Joan) Kadrmas, Lakeville, Minn.; sister, Nancy (Jerry), Woehl, Dickinson, ND; special friends, Bertha Marie and Emma Louise; nieces and nephews, Jason, Kristi, Justin, Katrinna, Cody, Christopher and Kimberly. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother-in-law, Helen Lund, a brother-in-law, Tony Lund, and special friends, Ernie and Barnie. Kevin graduated from Trinity High School in Dickinson in 1970 and the University of North Dakota in 1974. He was a teacher with the Superior School District for 31 years in special education. Kevin was presented the Teacher of the Year Award, in 1982 by the Superior School District. He was co-founder of Douglas County Special Olympics, the Douglas County Special Olympics meatball dinner and the Douglas County Special Olympics raffle to support Special Olympians. He was a member of the advisory board of the Douglas County Special Olympics, served as a Special Olympics coach and won numerous awards from national and state level Special Olympics. Kevin was a past member and past president of the Superior Jaycees. He received the Jaycees award for special contributions, U. S. Jaycees Ambassador Award. He was also a member of the Superior Elks Club 403. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and Wisconsin Badgers fan. The funeral will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday in the Performing Arts Center at Superior High School, 2600 Catlin Ave. , where persons attending are asked to use the 28th Street entrance. The Rev. Scott Ludford of Concordia Lutheran Church and the Rev. Dan Dahlberg of the Cathedral of Christ the King will officiate. Visitation will begin at 5 p. m. , Friday in the SHS Performing Arts Center where an Elks memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p. m. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russ Wester, Duke Adamski, Jim Weiler, Brad Sigl, Jason Kadrmas, Justin Woehl, Cody Woehl and Adam Sauter. Contributions in memory of Kevin may be made to Animal Rescue Federation, or Douglas County Special Olympics. Kevin was a devoted and wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, teacher, couch, friend, and leader. Kevin touched many lives with his PACER philosophy (positive attitudes create effective results), his generosity with his time, love, giving, and caring to all. Cards may be left for the family at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel in Dickinson.
