Private Family services for Kirk K. Krein, 66, of Hebron, will be held in the spring.
Kirk passed away Thursday December 22, 2022 at his home in Hebron.
Kirk K. Krein was born in Mandan on April 17, 1956, son of Vernon and Elaine (Kreis) Krein. He was raised on the family farm and attended Elm Creek Country School for the first eight grades. He graduated from Hebron High School in 1974. He continued his education at Dickinson State College, where he graduated in 1979 with Bachelor of Science in Education. Kirk met Laverne Bruski at College and they were married on June 30, 1978 in Beach, ND. Kirk began his teaching career in 1979. He taught math and physics in several schools in western North Dakota including 23 years at Hazen, ND. For 36 years, he enriched the lives of many students before retiring in 2015. For Kirk, teaching was a vocation and he always wished the very best for all his students.
His free time was spent furthering his education and helping his brother Kevin with carpentry jobs.
Kirk is survived by his wife, Laverne of Hebron; mother, Elaine Krein of Hebron; siblings; Keith (Alicia) Krein of Glen Ullin, Kevin (Sheila Reller) Krein of Hebron; nephews and nieces, Lindsay (Tyrell) Maloney, Jacob Krein, Zachary (McKenzi) Krein, Meghan (Marcus) Johnson and Allison (Eric) Mittleider; great-nieces and nephews, Maddox, Gracie, Violet, Tucker and Caisen; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Eugene Morman.
He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Krein; sister, Karen Krein and one infant sister; and his grandparents.
