A funeral service for Kurt Krauss, 49, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. In accordance with Kurt’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation for Kurt will be 9:00 a. m. – 10:00 a. m. at the funeral home on Thursday. Kurt passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson. Kurt was born October 20, 1965 in Michigan, the son of Wayne and Carol Beth (McClain) Krauss. Growing up he attended school in Holt, MI before graduating from NW High in Jackson, MI. Kurt played football in high school and truly loved the sport to this day. He joined the Army National Guard and served for seven years. Following his return, Kurt married Kelly Ackerson in 1986. To this union, three daughters, Kristina, Katie and Kyleen were born. Kurt worked various jobs in Michigan, owning his own construction business, “Krauss Konstruction” for several years. In 1999, he married Valerie Lewis and to this union, Peyton was born. Kurt moved to Dickinson in December of 2013 while employed with the Sterling Group to become the maintenance supervisor for Sierra Commons. Kurt married Kim Cass on July 31, 2015. Kurt is survived by his wife, Kim; mother, Carol Johnson of Holt, MI; “Dad,” Dave Johnson of Erie, CO; daughters, Kristina, Katie, and Kyleen Krauss of Jackson, MI, Peyton Krauss of Rochelle, IL; step-daughters, Mariah Whipple and Michala Milas both of Bismarck; sisters, Karen Jo (Mark) Cassarella of Ypsilanti, MI and Jennifer (Don) Dignard of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Dustin Krauss of Jackson, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Krauss.
