Lester George Cruikshank 75, years old of Ismay passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at his home. He was born on April 18, 1928 the son of Lester and Sarah (Krasky) Cruikshank in Minneapolis, MN. George as everybody new him attended schools in Wayzata, MN. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1946 and worked as a radar repairman and instructor. George was honorably discharged in 1949. He returned to Wayzata where he began carpenter work. George was married to Audrey Straussberg McDowell in Minnesota. Together they raised their four children, Darcy, Joe, Susan and Barbara. He enjoyed hunting and coming to Montana with his brothers. After retiring in Minnesota, George was able to move to a ranch in southeastern Montana where he was able to garden and hunt while taking care of the property and living in the Big Sky State. For the last 12 years he has enjoyed being outdoors and meeting many wonderful friends and neighbors. Neighbors would stop by for a visit, cup of coffee and before long the cribbage board would be out. He especially enjoyed the neighbors and attending the card parties throughout the years. Survivors include, a son, Joe (Julie) Cruikshank, Billings, MT; three daughters, Darcy (Gary) Veldhouse, Elk River, MN, Susan (Dave) Salmeia, Minneapolis, MN and Barbara Cruikshank and her friend, Linda Rahm, Holoke, MA; four brothers, Archie (Pat) Cruikshank, Minitonka, MN, Tom Cruikshank ,CO, John (Carolyn) Krasky, Minneapolis and Harold Krasky, Mountain Iron, MN; two sisters, Sarah (Bill) Boucher, Rogers, MN and Eunice (Richard) Golfis, Wayzata, MN and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roger.
