Laudie Adamski, 92, Dickinson, formerly of South Heart, died Wednesday, September 14, 2005, at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p. m. , Friday, September 16, 2005, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, South Heart, with Fr. Shannon Lucht, celebrating. Interment will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be 12 noon to 9 p. m. Thursday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil at 8 p. m. Visitation will continue Friday at the church one hour prior to the service. Laudie Adamski was born December 19, 1912 on a farm northwest of New Hradec. When he was 5 years old, the family moved to New Hradec where his father started a grocery and hardware store. He attended elementary school in New Hradec and then went to Dickinson High School, graduating in 1930. Laudie worked in the store at New Hradec until 1934 when he moved to South Heart to manage another grocery and hardware store, which his father started. Laudie took over the business after his father died in 1942. He joined his brother, Joe, in a partnership in a case dealership in Killdeer in 1945. Later, they also added the Chevrolet car dealership. They sold the Killdeer business in 1976 and Laudie sold the South Heart store in 1978. Laudie was one of the original city councilmen when South Heart first incorporated as a new city. Laudie enjoyed dancing and traveling. He retired in South Heart where he enjoyed gardening and shared his produce with many. In November, 2003, he moved into an apartment at St. Benedict?s Court in Dickinson. He is survived by: one sister, Rose Faiman, Dickinson, ND; special nephew, John (Caryl) Perdaems, Daniel and Darra, Bozeman, MT; nieces, Mary (Tim) Peters, Mike, Scott, and Tom, Dickinson, ND, and Janelle (Todd) Hnatko, Alex, Kate, and Louis, Duluth, MN; many other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Steve, Joe, Tony, John and Frank; sisters, Mary Buresh and Dorothy Perdaems. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 207 4th St. SW, South Heart, ND 58655.
