Funeral Mass for Laudie C. Kadrmas, 85, of Dickinson, ND will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 5, 2009 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veteran?s Cemetery on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1:00 PM CDT. Laudie passed away June 1, 2009 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson, ND. Laudie C. Kadrmas was born June 10, 1923 to Vincent and Agnes (Kubik) Kadrmas in Dickinson, ND. He grew up on the family farm Northeast of Dickinson, where he attended country school. After schooling, Laudie worked on the farm with his brothers. On November 8, 1944, he married Mary Truchan at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. The following January, in 1945, he was drafted into the United States Army. Laudie served in the Pacific Theatre in WWII and was later assigned to the Signal Corp. in Okinawa, Japan. Upon being honorably discharged in October, 1946 he returned home to North Dakota. Together, Laudie and Mary purchased a farm three miles West of Manning, ND. They lived and worked on the farm until moving to Dickinson in 2003. Laudie?s greatest passion in life was his farm. He took great pride in caring for every detail on his farm. He got much enjoyment from all the hard work he put in. He taught himself how to play the button accordion. He enjoyed getting together with family and friends to play music and cards. He loved his family very much. He was very giving to his children and grandchildren and was known for always treating everyone with respect. Laudie is survived by his wife, Mary; three children: Delores (Ron) Johnson, Oregon City, OR, Darleen (Don) Huber, Wolf Point, MT and Elroy (Susan) Kadrmas, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren: Leslie (John) Yoder, Aaron (Alexis) Johnson, Susan (Chris) Lawrence, Lisa (Brian) Reiter, Tom (Theresa) Huber, Jared Huber, Katharine Kadrmas and Emily Kadrmas; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Leona Kadrmas and Emma Kadrmas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and two sisters.
