Laudie J. Kostelecky, 76, Dickinson, died Saturday, June 5, 2004 after a two year illness at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p. m. Thursday, June 10, 2003, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with the Reverend James Braaten celebrating. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. , Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, with a rosary and prayer service at 7 p. m. led by Deacon Ray Jilek. Visitation will continue on Thursday at Price-Murphy Funeral Home from 9 a. m. to 12 noon. Laudie J. Kostelecky was born December 16, 1927 in Stark County to Joe and Agnes Kostelecky. He married Gladys Luptak on May 18, 1948. He farmed south of Dickinson until 1985. Laudie loved farming and continued helping his sons with the farm until 2002 when his illness kept him homebound. Being extremely talented with his hands in building and woodworking, he was always there with a helping hand. If we needed something and could explain it for him, he could build it. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled his life with joy. He was so loved and will be missed terribly by his surviving wife, Gladys; eight children, Geri Kostelecky, Billings, MT, Karen Weiler (late Kevin), Dickinson, Gaylene (Galen) Bren, Bismarck, Dale (Rose) Kostelecky, Dickinson, Dean (Betsy) Kostelecky, Kremling, CO, Daniel (Darlene) Kostelecky, Dickinson, Lonnie (Friend Lisa) Kostelecky, South Heart, Laurie (Fiancee Karl Prince) Kostelecky, Broomfield, CO; 13 grandchildren, Terri and Kim Bren, Kristie Weiler, Todd Weiler (friend Rachelle), Michelle (Travis) Leintz, Lisa Kostelecky (friend Justin), Kayla and Kyle Kostelecky, Eric Bren, Nate, Dillon, Kacie, Emily Kostelecky; two great-grandchildren, Brandyn Schmidt and Allison Leintz; one step grandchild, Jenny Worlie; one brother, Edmund (Lena) Kostelecky, Missoula, MT, one sister, Margaret (Robert) Krenz, New England. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joe and Agnes and one brother Ben.
