Lawrence Thomas, 80, New England, died Wednesday, October 20, 2004, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a. m. Saturday, October 23, 2004, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, New England, with Rev. Basil Atwell, O. S. B. , celebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary?s Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. , Friday, at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. Visitation will continue at the church in New England beginning at 5 p. m. with a rosary being said at 7 p. m. Visitation will continue Saturday at the church one hour prior to the service. Lawrence Thomas was born April 19, 1924 to Pete and Erma (Muth) Thomas. He married Fern Vadnie on January 10, 1955. They lived in New England after their marriage and later moved to a farm south of New England. He was a member of St. Anthony Brotherhood, faithful member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, and the Farm Bureau. He was employed as an insurance salesman for Nodak Mutual from 1955 ? 2002. He was an avid trapshooter in New England and Hettinger for many years. Lawrence is survived by: two daughters, Lori (Stan) Koppinger, Rugby, ND; Amy Krogh, Dickinson, N. D; two sons, Ross Thomas, Reeder, ND, Blair Thomas, Dickinson, ND; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Joel (Lindsay) and Danielle Koppinger, Josh Thomas, Luke, Kyle (Debbie), Tyler, Rex and Katie Krogh; one great-granddaughter, Skye Krogh; one brother, Carl Thomas, Eugene, OR; one sister, Rosella (Reuben) Belland, New England, ND. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Fern; parents, three sisters and two brothers.
