A funeral service for Lee Madsen, 98, of Baker, MT, will be Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker. Burial will follow in Bonnievale Cemetery. Visitation for Lee will be from 12:00 p. m. to 2:00 p. m. , Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Baker. Lee passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. Lee Buck Madsen was born May 3, 1916 north of Baker on the homestead, son of James and Birdie (Erickson) Madsen. He grew up and attended country schools until he started working with his dad on the Ranch. He later purchased the Homestead, and operated it for several years until he retired and moved into Baker. Lee enjoyed playing cards, checkers and dominoes. He always enjoyed reading and writing poetry. When he was younger, Lee made his own snow skis and enjoyed using them on the ranch. He was also an avid trapper. Lee is survived by his sister, Cora Steffes of Polson, MT; nephews, Michael Steffes of Stevens Point, WI, David (Arlinda) Steffes of Polson, MT; one great-nephew, one great-niece and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Birdie, and his twin brothers Fred and Matt.
