Leighton James

Leighton Eldon James, infant son of Dustin and Dawnette James and beloved little brother of Emeri, was born without a heartbeat February 7, 2019 at CHI St. Alexius Health Center, Dickinson, ND.  Cherished nephew, cousin, grandson, and great-grandson.


He weighed 2 pounds 7.5 ounces and was 15 inches long. His parents were full of happiness to see he had his sister’s nose and ears. Though he never spent any time with us, he was very loved and touched many lives. He was a joyful expectation for our family. The memories of fishing trips, sports events, and the rowdy family gatherings have been changed to pleasant dreams.


Our little angel will never be forgotten. Leighton will always remain his parent’s baby and Emeri’s little brother, who will miss him and love him forever.


Private family services have taken place.


Leighton leaves behind his loving parents, Dustin and Dawnette James; sister, Emeri; and adoring friends and family.


Dustin and Dawnette would like to thank the staff at CHI St Alexius Health Center, Dickinson, ND for their compassion and support during this difficult time.
