Funeral Mass for Lena Ganzer, 92 of Dickinson will be 1:00 p. m. , Friday, December 17, 2010 at St. Patrick?s Catholic Church with Rev. Todd Kreitinger, celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Patricks Cemetery. Visitation for Lena will take place from 12:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a Rosary & Vigil Service being held at 7:00 p. m. Lena passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at Hawks Point in Dickinson. Lena Kolling was born on September 11, 1918 in Gladstone, North Dakota, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Weinschrott) Kolling. She attended school in the Gladstone area, graduating from Gladstone High School. Lena went on to attend Dickinson State where she received her associates degree. She worked for Schnell Livestock for several years after college. On June 22, 1942, Lena married John P. Ganzer in Dickinson. To this union four children were born; Ken, Keith, Jane and Bill. After her youngest child, Bill was in high school Lena began working for the Stark County Treasurer?s office and later became the Deputy Treasurer. Lena continued to work for the County until her retirement. She continued to make Dickinson her home after her retirement. Lena enjoyed volunteering her time at St. Joseph?s Hospital in which she had many duties. She also knitted baby caps for all the newborns which she donated to St. Joseph?s Hospital Baby Kind Department. Lena enjoyed cooking and sharing her cooking with family and friends. She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church all of her life. She also was a member of the St. Ann?s Study Club, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Joseph Hospital Auxilary. The last several years Lena enjoyed her friends and family at Hawks Point. Lena is survived by three sons, Ken Ganzer of Prescott, AZ, Keith (Marge) Ganzer of Mesa, AZ and Bill (Cynthia) Ganzer of Maple Grove, MN; one daughter, Jane (Larry) Meyer of Fairfield, MT; one brother, Peter (Gladys) Kolling of Dickinson; one sister Ivela (Leo) Jahner; six grandchildren, Lisa (Greg) Gouveia, Bryan (Kayla) Ganzer, David (Shannon) Ganzer, Paul Ganzer, Michelle Meyer and Matthew Meyer and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jared Gouveia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Anna Kolling; her husband John; three brothers, Joe, Frank and Gene and an infant brother; and one sister, Mary Sadowsky.
