Lenore passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Dahl Memorial in Ekalaka.
Lenore Marie Hartse was born on May 18, 1930 in Wibaux County, Montana; the first of Arthur and Myrtle Mae (Bryson) Hartse’s five daughters. She was raised on the homestead northwest of Carlyle, attending grade school in Carlyle, Sunday School at the Carlyle Lutheran Church and high school in Glendive. As a child, she looked forward to the annual Elevator Meeting with neighbors, Christmas programs and dances. Being there were only girls in the family, they didn’t have special chores, they just worked together at whatever needed done, indoors and out.
On July 25, 1948, Lenore was married to Clifford Beach in Glendive, MT. They farmed and ranched in the Ollie community until the spring of 1965 when they moved to the ranch Northeast of Ekalaka. This became a home for their seven children Babe, Arley, Keith, Bradley, Eloise, Jan and Wayne. In 1973, her husband, Clifford, died on the ranch. Lenore was able to continue working and living there with the help of several children and grandchildren until she needed more care and became a resident at Dahl Memorial in November of 2022.
Lenore took great pride in caring for her family. You could often find her in the kitchen preparing a hearty meal for a large crew or cookies in case company came. She enjoyed her garden and flowers, sewing, painting, taking pictures, singing and playing the organ, visiting with hunters, and keeping the family history. She took pride in hosting family reunions and keeping up with her sisters and their families as well as her own 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She loved to attend their events and take pictures, prepare a package for their birthday, or celebrate their accomplishments by clipping a newspaper article to tuck away forever.
Lenore was a woman of work and sacrifice. She was a cancer survivor twice! She raised children and grandchildren on her own. She got by with very little and shared the little she had with many. Her religion and grit were just enough to get her through the challenges of life.
Lenore is proceeded in death by her husband; her parents; 3 sisters; 2 daughters, Jan Bickel and Eloise Beach; and 3 grandchildren, LaShonna Bickel, Becky Coisman, and Doug Beach.
Her legacy remains with her uncle, Clint Bryson; sister, LaVonne (Rusty) Vimpany of Helena, MT; her children, Babe LeGene Beach of Miles City, MT, Arley Lewis (Sue) Beach of Jamestown, ND, Keith Elerey (Ellen) Beach of Ekalaka, MT, Bradley Lawrence (Sherrie) Beach of Sedro-Woolley, WA, and Wayne Loyal Beach of Helena, MT; grandchildren, David (Sue) Beach of Jamestown, ND, Larry (Tina) Beach of Miles City, MT, Jay Beach of Ekalaka, MT, Dan (Heidi) Beach of Ashley, ND, David Coisman of Ipswich, SD, Brian Beach of Ekalaka, MT, Jeanie (Rob) Moran of Washougal, WA, Marsha (Kurt) Anderson of Colton, SD, John (Corina) Paszkiet of Bozeman, MT, Jenny Paszkiet of Kingman, AZ, and Perry Beach of Helena, MT; great grandchildren, Travis, Devin, Cody (Katie), Brandon, Shianne, Sheridan, Kebba, Kedda, Shaylee, Savannah, Roger, Clover, Mariah, Maxwell, Dylan, Courtney, Ezekiel, Naomi, Malachi, and Malayiah; and her great-great grandchildren, Winston Anderson and Samuel Beach.
