Funeral Mass for Leonard G. Roller, 81, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Saturday, August 25, 2007, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Schafer celebrating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 23, from 3 p. m. to 9 p. m. at Stevenson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Friday, August 24, from 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. at the chapel with a Rosary and Vigil being held at 7:00 p. m. led by Deacon Al Schwindt. Visitation will continue on Saturday, August 25, from 8 a. m. until one hour prior to service. Leonard passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at his home in Dickinson. Leonard Roller was born on December 16, 1925 to Alexander and Philomena (Pachl) Roller in Dickinson, North Dakota. He grew up and attended school in the Frenzel School District south of Dickinson. On October 10, 1950 Leonard married Florence Wandler at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church in Dickinson. The couple began farming on the Roller family homestead. In 1959 they moved into Dickinson where Leonard began carpentering. He prided himself as a finish carpenter and was considered a perfectionist with his work. Leonard began managing the KC club, as well as bartending in the early 1970?s. He later began working at St. Joseph?s Hospital where he worked until his retirement in 1982. Leonard and Florence have continued to make Dickinson their home. Leonard enjoyed dancing, traveling, fishing, hunting, and especially loved his Name?s Day Parties which were held on his birthday and attended by many friends and family members. That would include many friends and family members. He will be remembered for his quick wit and good sense of humor. He was a member of St. Joseph?s Catholic Church and St. Anthony Club, a past member of the Eagles Club, German Hungarian Club and Knights of Columbus. Leonard is survived by: his wife, Florence of Dickinson; three sons: Larry (Adela) Roller, Randy (Vicki) Roller all of Bismarck, Jeff (Roberta) Roller of Rapid City, SD; two daughters: Sandra Zent of Dickinson, Jane (Tom) Chady of Slidell, LA; one brother, Ed Roller; three sisters: Lillian Wanner of Port Angelus, WA, Martha (James) Lambert of Dickinson, Marge (George) Hoffman of Cody, WY; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Veronica Koffler
