Leontina Geiss

A funeral Mass for Leontina “Tina” Geiss, 100, of Glen Ullin, will be 11:00 a.m. CDT, Friday, April 7, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Father Jeff Zwack celebrating.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.


Visitation for Leontina will be from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church.


Leontina passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Marian Manor HCC in Glen Ullin.


Leontina was born on November 29, 1916 in Raleigh, ND, the daughter of Emil and Irene (Miller) Kopp.  She grew up and attended country school near Raleigh.  On November 26, 1942, Tina married John Geiss in Glen Ullin. They were blessed with a daughter, Mary and a son, Jim.  Tina loved to entertain and host family gatherings.  She enjoyed baking and having coffee with her friends every day.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a past member of the Christian Mothers.


Tina is survived by her son, Jim (Carmen) Geiss of Glen Ullin; daughter, Mary (Art) Schaff of Beaverton, OR; grandchildren, Sheri (Dave) Stastny, Brenda (Andy) Stober, Beth (Cory) Bareksten, Chris Geiss; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Avery, Abby, Brooklyn, Gehrig; sisters-in-law, Kathy Kopp, Angela Kopp, Edna Kopp; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by  her parents, Emil and Irene Kopp; husband, John; brothers, Burt, Celes, Al, Richard, Acke, John; sisters, Rose, Lena, Phyliss, and Dorothy.
