Funeral service for LeRoy Kusler, 83, of Baker, MT will be 11:00 a. m. Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Plevna Baptist Church in Plevna, MT with pastor Ernie Lambright officiating. Burial will follow at Bonnievale Cemetery, Baker, MT. Visitation will take place from 2:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a Prayer Service taking place at 7:00 p. m. LeRoy passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Fallon Medical Complex in Baker. LeRoy Edwin Kusler was born October 5, 1925 to Edwin and Bertha (Orth) Kusler in Java, SD. At the age of 4 LeRoy moved with his family to a farm south of Plevna, MT. The family made their home on the farm until LeRoy?s father passed away when LeRoy was only 9 years old at which time his mother moved the family to town. LeRoy attended school in Plevna graduating from Plevna High School in 1944. During this time LeRoy worked on the Jake Schweigert Farm for several years. On September 11, 1949 LeRoy married Betty Schueler at the First Baptist Church in Baker. They were blessed five children, Kathy, Darrell Connie, Carleen, and Doug. LeRoy worked for Rediske Electric where he began to learn the electrical trade. He later worked for T&M Electric while he earned his Master Electrician License. LeRoy and his brother Glenn purchased T&M Electric and operated until 1974. LeRoy operated Kusler Electric until 1988 at which time his son Doug took over. LeRoy continued to help for quite a few years until his health didn?t allow him to do so. LeRoy loved sports of all shapes and sizes. He enjoyed watching all sporting events, Nationally or locally, live or on TV. He was especially fond of watching his children and grandchildren in their various sports and school activities. Another favorite pastime of LeRoy?s was playing ping-pong and horse shoes. LeRoy loved being around kids and they always brightened his day and put a smile on his face. He was a member of the church choir and men?s quartets. He was very involved at church, teaching Sunday school and serving as a Deacon. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty of Baker; children, Kathy (Walt) Stieg of Billings, MT; Darrell Kusler of Emmett, ID; Connie (Gary) Lang of Plevna, MT; Carleen (Eddy) Susa of Baker, MT; Doug (Lisa) Kusler of Everett, WA; 13 Grandchildren, Ryan (Jill) Stieg; Aaron and Tyler Stieg; Jeff (Stanell) Kusler; Kurt (Nicole) Kusler; Steve (Anna) Kusler; Joni (Karsten) Finseth; Josh (Lisa) Lang; Nichole and Neal Susa; Heather, Darin, and Holly Kusler; and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Idella Holm of Baker; Arleen (Verle) Grahm of Baker, MT; brother-in-law Richard (Sarah) Schueler of Billings, MT; sisters-in-law Violet Baird of Baker; Helen Schueler of Baker. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his brother Glenn; brothers-in-law, Herb Schueler and Robert Baird.
