A Celebration of Life for Les Fleury, 64 of Bismarck, formerly of San Jose, CA, will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson, with Pastor Tyler Doohen officiating. In support of Les’ love of sports, please wear your favorite sports apparel to the Celebration of Life.
Les passed away unexpectedly at his home in Bismarck on Sunday, July 7, 2019.
Leslie Joseph Fleury was born February 13, 1955 in Fort Ord, California, the son of Leo and Nancy (Bales) Fleury. Les grew up and attended school in San Jose, California, graduating from Camden High School. Les worked at various restaurants in the San Jose area. While working at Vintage House, he met Lisa Mullin. Les and Lisa married on July 14, 1979. They were blessed with two children, Justin and Kristen. The couple made their home in the San Jose area and it was here where they raised their family. Les began working in the construction business and became well known for his own company, BAD – Bay Area Drywall. Les and Lisa moved to Penn Valley, California at Lake Wildwood, later moving to North Dakota in 2011. At each stop, Les used his eye for remodeling to flip houses. He also worked for contractors and did various odd jobs at each stay where his skills served him well. Les enjoyed sports, especially watching his daughter’s and all the Bay Area teams. He enjoyed camping, spending time with his dogs, BBQ and cooking. Les loved animals and never left home without Buddy whether it was work or play.
Les is survived by his wife, Lisa Fleury; son, Justin (Carol) Fleury and their children, Avari and Joshua, of California; daughter, Kristen (Amanda Mickey) Fleury, of Dickinson, ND; brothers Steve Fleury, Brian (Claudia) Fleury, Gary Fleury, all of California; sister, Michele (Leonard) Fleury-DiFranco, of California.
He was preceeded in death his parents Leo and Nancy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to the Les Fleury Scholarship Fund at Dickinson State University.
