Funeral Services for Lester Miller, 87, of Glen Ullin, will be 10:30 a. m. (CST) Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin with Pastor Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at the Glen Ullin cemetery.
Visitation for Lester will be from 9:00 a. m. to 10:30 a. m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Church. Lester passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Marion Manor, Glen Ullin.
Lester Miller was born April 18, 1925, on the family farm south of Glen Ullin, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Miller. Lester grew up and attended the local country school, and then worked on the family farm. On October 16, 1947, Lester married Lorraine Roth at the Bethany Congregational Church south of Glen Ullin. The couple made their home on the farm, and it was here where they raised their family. In 1993, Lester retired and he and Lorraine moved to Glen Ullin. In town, Lester stayed busy hauling livestock from the area to the ring sale as well as cleaning barns and corrals with his bobcat. Lester enjoyed attending rodeos, listening to Gospel Music. He was also fond of his time working at Kist Sales yard. Lester loved to tell jokes and was able to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. Lester was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church in Glen Ullin.
Lester is survived by his wife, Lorraine; two daughters, Bonnie (John) Fischer of Bismarck, Brenda (Herman) Zacher of Lincoln, ND; one grandson, Bryan (fianc? Amy) Fischer, Bismarck, ND; brother, Edwin of Glen Ullin; and five sisters, Ruth (Ray) Heinle of Hebron, Violet Heinle of MN, Cinda (Marvin) Lennick of Dickinson, Gloria (Tom) Schaefer of Dickinson, Freda Anderson of Bismarck.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brad Fischer; three brothers, Karl, Ernest, Herbert and a brother in childhood; two sister, Florence Heinle and Edna Heinle.
