A funeral service for Levi R. Hammond, 36, of Dickinson, will be 10:00 a. m. , Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Break Forth Bible Church in Dickinson with Pastor Larry Phalen officiating. Lunch will be served at the church following the service. Burial will take place at 2:00 p. m. on Thursday in the Beach Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Beach Evangelical Church. A Family and Friends gathering will be held at 6:00 p. m. , Wednesday, February 24th at the church with public visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 p. m. Levi passed away Friday, February 19, 2016 near Sheridan, WY due to an avalanche while snowmobiling. Levi Robert was born July 20, 1979 in Dickinson, the son of Ed and Cheryl (Weinreis) Hammond. He attended grade school in Golva and high school at Beach, where he was a graduate with the class of 1997. Levi worked for the Minatare Feedlot and Weinreis Brothers. Following graduation, he attended Williston State College and studied Diesel Technology. Levi worked at West Plains Implement before attending Rhema Bible Training College in 2003. He then came to the Beach/Golva area where he worked and spent two summers fighting fire on the strike team with the National Forest Service in Montana. In 2005, Levi met the love of his life, Becky Jaschob. They were married on December 28, 2007 in Bismarck. The couple was blessed with three sons, Gage, Bodey and Rawley. They lived in Bismarck for a short time before moving to Dickinson. Levi began working for Butler Machinery in 2007. He was an active member of the Dickinson Fire Department and was a past member of the Beach/Golva Fire Department. Levi was a vital part of Break Forth Bible Church and thoroughly enjoyed playing bass guitar every Sunday morning. He was passionate about hunting, snowmobiling, camping, driving truck and working cattle. Above all else though, his passion was to serve his Heavenly Father and to be a great husband and father. Levi will be dearly missed by his family and his community. Levi is survived by his wife, Becky; his three sons, Gage (6), Bodey (4) and Rawley (1); parents, Edwin and Cheryl Hammond; parents-in-law, Paul and Cheryl Jaschob; brother, Joshua (Maria) Hammond of Dickinson; sisters, Karla Hammond of Dickinson, Anna Hammond and Beth (Josh) Banks both of Golva, Amy Hammond of Austin, TX; sisters-in-law, Krista (Jeremy) Duckwitz of Moffit, ND and Michelle (Randy) Hoovestol of Bismarck; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rienzi & Jean Hammond and Lloyd & Violet Weinreis. Memorial contributions may be made to Becky and the boys at gofundme. com/LeviHammond. Additional parking for the funeral will be available near the church by Dickinson Ready Mix Company and UPS along with shuttle service available from the Biesiot Activity Center parking lot and Stevenson Funeral Home.
