Lillian was born on June 7, 1929 to Adolph and Teresa (Pavlish) Kadrmas at her Grandmother’s home in Dickinson. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School and graduated from then Dickinson Central High School in 1947. On May 2, 1949 Lillian married Fred “Freddie” Badinger at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. During their marriage, Lillian worked as support staff at various businesses, but being a homemaker was her main calling in life. Lillian and Fred were married 31 years until Fred’s untimely death at the age of 56 in 1980. She never remarried and lived the majority of her life in Dickinson with several moves to the Fargo area and eventually settling in Dickinson, her home town. She and Fred were blessed with four children, Sally, Arnold, Susie, and Michael. Lillian was also blessed with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Being a wife, mother and grandmother were Lillian’s top priorities. She had a strong Christian faith and a deep love for the Lord. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for most of her life, past member of Christian Mother’s, and loyal participant of various bible study groups in the community. She was a faithful prayer partner to her friends and family and a dedicated Christian. Lillian prided herself in having read her Bible through eight times. Her dream was to write. She even had a poem titled “Health Is A Poem” published. Lillian enjoyed visiting with friends and family every chance she got and especially enjoyed her trips to visit family. Win or lose, she loved to play board games and cards. Singing hymns and old time songs was also a favorite pastime for her. Even though Lillian suffered from the effects of Alzheimer’s/dementia, she liked to joke and laugh, and even in her final days, she continued to greet everyone with a smile.
