Funeral Mass for Lillian Kostelecky, 82, of Dickinson, ND, will be 9:00 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2012, at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Shannon Lucht celebrating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m. at the Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson, ND.
Lillian passed away peacefully Sunday, July 1, 2012 with her family at her side at Medcenter One Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Lillian was born October 27, 1929 in Dunn County, North Dakota, the daughter of Steve and Agnes (Urbanec) Kostelecky. Growing up she attended country school and New Hradec School through the eighth grade. She then went to and graduated from Model High. On June 14, 1949, Lillian was united in marriage to Jerry E. Kostelecky at New Hradec. To this union, Jeri Ann, Neil, Gregg, Mike and Mark were born. Together they raised their family on a farm in Dunn County. They moved into Dickinson in 1959, making it their home ever since. Lillian and Jerry were blessed with 63 years of a lifetime together. Lillian began her banking career at Liberty National Bank and continued on at American Bank Center, where she spent the next 30+ years, retiring in 1992. The family enjoyed gatherings, either at their home or at the lake cabin. Lillian loved to bake and she was an avid bowler and card player. Lillian was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Sts. Peter & Paul Rosary Society of New Hradec and a member of the Catholic War Veteran’s Auxiliary. She will be remembered as her family’s prayer warrior.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Jeri Ann (Ron) Blaufuss; four sons, Neil (Pam) Kostelecky of Bismarck, Gregg (Paula) Kostelecky of Arvada, CO; Mike (Hansine) Kostelecky of Drumheller, Alberta, Canada; Mark (Dana) Kostelecky of Dickinson; two brothers, Laudie Kostelecky of Dickinson and Don (Donna) Kostelecky of Bozeman, MT; sister-in-law, MaryAnn (Wally) Loran of Detroit Lakes, MN; brother-in-law, Edwin (Mary) Kostelecky of Dickinson; 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Agnes; and one infant brother.
