Lillian Metz Pachl, 88, Dickinson, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a. m. , Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Jeff Zwack celebrating. Interment will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be 2 p. m. to 9 p. m. , Friday, July 16, 2004 at Price-Murphy Funeral Home, Dickinson. There will be a rosary at 7 p. m. Friday led by Christian Mothers followed by a prayer service led by Deacon Ray Jilek. Lillian Samek was born November 25, 1915 in Dunn County, North Dakota to Joseph and Mary (Roller) Samek. She attended school in Willmen District Dent Hill School. She married Steve J. Metz on November 15, 1936. They lived in Dunn County until 1960, until they moved to Carson in 1963. There they operated Carson Circle Foods, until moving to Dickinson in 1967. They operated Metz processing plant until 1975 when Steve passed away. In 1979 Lillian married Louis G. Pachl and moved to Billings, Mont. Louis passed away in 1998. She was a member of St. Ann’s Auxiliary and Christian Mothers. Lillian is survived by: three daughters, Lois Berger, Dickinson, ND, Dianne (Clark) Dawson, Albuquerque, NM, Bonnie Metz, Lincoln, NE; three sons, Ervin (Gerry) Metz, Dickinson, ND, Harvey (Charley) Metz, Colby, KS, DuWayne (Joan) Metz, Jennings, KS; one daughter-in-law, Helen Metz, Bismarck, ND; one brother, Henry Samek, Eugene, OR; eighteen grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: both husbands; her son, Arnold; three brothers and four sisters.
