Linda Diane Stieg, 53, of Ekalaka, Montana passed away August 11, 2003 at Dahl Memorial Hospital in Ekalaka after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born on November 23, 1949 at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City, Montana the only daughter of William H. & Wilma (Boggs) Stieg. Linda attended her early years of grade school at Medicine Rocks rural school. After the family moved to Ekalaka in 1961, she attended Ekalaka Elementary School and Carter County High School. Linda was married to Tony Nies and to this union was born a son, Ryan Allen. Linda & Tony were divorced several years later. Linda worked at hospitals in towns in which she lived. When she moved to Wyoming she worked in Real Estate and other ventures, eventually establishing a vintage clothing business with her partner, Joe Bush. They also operated this business in Colorado and California. Linda returned to Ekalaka in January of 2001, where she has made her home since. She continued to be active in business via telephone and internet. Linda enjoyed visiting with family and friends, doing computer work and studying health topics. Linda was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Allen Nies; her father William H. Stieg. She is survived by her mother, Wilma of Ekalaka; Special friend, Joe Bush of Torrance, California; her four brothers, Duane & Diana Stieg of Miles City; Tom & Kathy Stieg of rural Ekalaka; Terry & Debbie of Ekalaka; Walter & Kathy Stieg of Billings; nieces, Thomasene (Jeff) Hill, Jessica (Shane) Orcutt, Tana, Ann & Lisa Stieg; Theresa Stieg; nephews, Bob (Magen) Stieg; Clayton & Mike Stieg; Ryan, Aaron & Tyler Stieg; great-nieces, Natalie Orcutt, Kender & Madison Hill; great-nephew, Payton Stieg. Funeral Services will be Saturday, Aug. 16, at 2 PM at the Ekalaka Bible Church in Ekalaka. Viewing will begin on Friday, Aug. 15, from 10 AM to 7 PM at the Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka. Cremation will follow the services. A reception will be held in the church basement Fellowship Hall after the funeral service.
